About Me

I'm Semih Onay, an R&D Software Engineer based in Istanbul, Türkiye with over 10 years of experience building backend systems, infrastructure, and embedded devices.

My day-to-day involves Node.js and Python, but I'm equally comfortable soldering components on a breadboard or configuring Kubernetes clusters. I hold a BSc in Computer Science and I'm a licensed amateur radio operator with callsign TA1SMO.

I don't ship claims I haven't measured — on the job or off it. That standard applies equally to the things nobody's paying me for: a personal document-search engine I built and maintain over hundreds of my own references, a hand-tuned AI-agent orchestration setup, firmware debugged down to the display-panel register level. If it isn't verified, it isn't done.
